LFD Celebrates 35th Anniversary

LFD Limited has recently celebrated its 35th anniversary. The company was formed in 1989 in Gosport, Hampshire, rapidly acquiring a market leading position for the supply of covert and visible lights to military aircraft customers on both fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

The company facility includes aerospace quality design, machining and assembly.

Major customers in the UK include Leonardo, Cobham, BAE and the Ministry of Defence. LFD also exports equipment to Europe, Asia and North America.

In the past two years the company has invested heavily in expanding to larger new custom built premises in Lederle Lane, Gosport. The premises were designed to accommodate a newly acquired machining company (Mellish Engineering) into LFD Limited.

Further investment is anticipated over the next year with significant expenditure on an additional 5th axis machining centre and additional automated mechanical measuring equipment. Also during 2019 the company will be implementing new manufacturing and project control software.

These investments will ensure the long term growth potential and stability of the company.
